Los Angeles is a City on the move with more than 74 million passengers arriving or departing from LAX in 2015. Los Angeles World Airports, the City-owned entity that operates LAX, is a major economic engine, contributing at least $2.6 billion to the regional economy and 360,000 jobs to Southern California.

The Office of the Los Angeles City Controller, in partnership with the Mayor and City Council, is charged with conducting a thorough survey of the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) every 5 years. In our review of the operations and performance of our airports, we worked with LAWA's management in the creation of their first performance measurement system. This system will track and measure key indicators and metrics relating to passenger experience, transportation, business operations, the local community, and much more.
